Painted Pantry

I love the terra cotta paint! Hard to imagine that I still have to do the hardest part; the installation of the cabinets.

The doors are already taken down, along with the upper track (the lower one will have to be chiseled out). I've already opened up the drywall to thread wiring; the lower hole has already been wired, connected, and patched.
I Wish.The set I'm aiming for.

This is the set that best combines practicality, elegance, and economy. Bonus that the photo shows the setup exactly as I'd put it together myself: with the blue walls, white wainscotting, and square mirror flanked with two sconces.

The tub is almost worn through on the bottom, and the grout is falling out between the wall tiles. The faucet is just plain old nasty.

These are all the fixtures that came with the house: so, the cheapest of the cheap. Since we don't use the cabinet under the sink much, I'd like to get a smaller vanity in the hopes that it'd make the bathroom look more spacious.
Built-in-bookshelf.Now it all makes sense.

Out come the hammer and tools! A weekend and a hundred bucks later: Diana and the Problem of the Mystery Column, solved! (Obviously, that was what it was there for in the first place, seeing as it works so well! -grin-)

The chair rail was the only project I've yet done in this house that just plain old worked perfectly from start to finish, with no glitches in between. Well, it's only been up for a year now.... I'd better not jinx myself! :)
Old Window Trim

It was rotted through - no surprise, seeing as they'd used interior-grade moulding without even priming it first! -grumble- This was the first remodel that I did to the house, seeing as it had been mandated by the HOA.
New Window Trim

I added a decorative moulding in the center, primed the heck out of everything (even the back of each piece), and added a good three coats of a high-quality exterior gloss paint.
Strange column.Dunno what it's for, really...

We had lived with this random column in the middle of our living room (it was connected to the wall by the even-more-random tiny chunk of banister) for almost a year before I decided to make it into a built-in-bookshelf.

Before two-tone paint and an inlaid-stone chair rail (my own idea!)
